Canal Landing

Located at 427 Broadway St. in downtown New Haven, Indiana, this quaint pocket park adds asthetic appeal to the area with a gazebo, flowers, benches and a historic plaque telling of the importance the historic Canal played in the development of New Haven.

Canal landing, as it was named for this historic significance, is approximately 1/3 of an acre. The land was purchased in 1999 and the parking lot that existed was demolished and a park planned. This park adds eye appeal to the downtown business district and is a popular place for a lunch break.

 
Havenhurst Park

This spacious 29 acre park lies adjacent to the privately owned and operated Whispering Creek Golf Course. Havenhurst Park offers wide open spaces for traditional outdoor sports such as baseball, softball, basketball, tennis and football. Havenhurst is located at 211 North Rufus Street on the North Side of New Haven and is a popular destination for all of the organized sport opportunites available at this location. Since there is so much to do at this location, it is a popular spot for family reunions, anniversary and birthday parties. The pavilion can be reserved during the regular season for all of these and more locations.

Heatherwood Park

Heatherwood Park is located at 920 Hartzell Road, New Haven, just behind the fire station. The park offers a small playground area and a grassy walking path through the woods. Heatherwood is a great place to stop for a relaxing lunch break.

Recently, several of the trees were removed from the park. These trees were victims of the Emerald Ash Borer. The trees were dead and needed to be removed before they became a safety issue. The park will be the site of our next community volunteer planting effort on November 3, 2012. Look for more information on the Great Tree Canopy Comeback!

 
Klotz Park

Klotz park is located in the heart of Southwick Village neighborhood. Surrounded by large trees, a small creek, and friendly neighbors, Klotz offers a varitey of fun amenitiies to keep the entire family busy. There is a soccer and football field, small pavilion, and a baseball diamond located on the park grounds. The large grassy area that separates the soccer/football area from the baseball diamond is a great place for a picnic or a large game of extreme frisbee!

This park is open daily from 6:00 am - 11:00 pm, and is located at 6000 Altadena Drive, Fort Wayne, IN, 46816.

 

 
Moser Park

 

Moser Park has several features that make it an attractive park for nature lovers and active enthusiasts alike. The secenic walking trails of Moser Park-Brudi asure Nature Trail are open daily through the year during normal park hours. This park also serves as the South trail head for the New Haven section of the Rivergreenway. The Nature Center is also located in Moser Park. This facility is a seasonal educational jewel to New Haven and surrounding communities. In addition, ball diamonds, disc golf and a basketball court are located in this diverse park
